Marshall McLuhan Revisited

– A Centennial Conference on Marshall McLuhan’s contributions to media theory and vision of a new media society
The Fritt Ord Foundation invites the public to the seminar 'Marshall McLuhan Revisited' on Tuesday, 12 April 2011, from 10.00–16.00 at Uranienborgveien 2 in Oslo.
New generations are once again discovering McLuhan’s ideas, and older generations are reconsidering them in the light of a broader perspective on his contribution. McLuhan’s astonishing eclecticism and vision remain fascinating, if confusing, axial points for thoughts on the modern world, including its means of perception and communication. In this seminar, international scholars address McLuhan’s far-reaching theories of the media as related to changes in culture and technology.
